ipmSamachar is an online news portal built for iPhoolbari Media Network Pvt. Ltd., a Lalitpur-based media company covering national and international news. Mauveine Tech delivered the project in March 2025, handling everything from logo design and brand identity through to a full WordPress build. The tech stack runs on WordPress CMS with the Newspaper theme, WP Rocket for caching, a custom WebP image converter plugin developed in-house at Mauveine Tech, and Google Analytics properly integrated from day one.
The Problem
iPhoolbari Media Network had a website, it just didn't work. Their existing WordPress setup ran on a theme that broke regularly, and keeping it functional had become a recurring problem rather than something they could ignore. Beyond the reliability issues, the site was outdated and wasn't helping them grow their audience.
The bigger issue was their analytics. Google Analytics was installed but misconfigured, which meant they had no reliable picture of who was visiting, where traffic was coming from, or what was working. For a media company whose entire business model depends on online readership, flying blind on traffic data is a serious problem. No online presence, no company, that was the reality they were operating in.
Rather than trying to patch the existing site, the decision was made to start from scratch. And since they were rebuilding anyway, it made sense to sort out the brand at the same time.
Our Approach
WordPress was the right tool here, and not by default. The iPhoolbari editorial team already knew their way around the CMS, they could publish content, manage categories, and handle day-to-day operations without needing a developer. That matters for a news operation. A custom-built CMS would have introduced a learning curve they didn't need.
The client had already purchased the Newspaper theme before the project started, so that became part of the brief. We work within constraints, and honestly, the better approach is to customize well inside a chosen framework than to fight the client on a tool they've already bought and are comfortable with.
Because they were rebuilding from scratch, it was also the right moment to sort out their brand. We designed a new logo, built out a full brand identity system, and created the templates and document assets they'd need going forward. The visual direction fed directly into how the site was built and how ipmSamachar presents itself online.
What We Built
The portal covers national and international news across multiple categories. On the frontend, the site is built on the Newspaper theme with customization to match the brand identity. We developed the logo, color palette, and typography system are consistent across the site and the collateral we delivered alongside it.
On the backend, the editorial team has full CMS access and manages their own content publishing independently. Mauveine Tech continues to handle page-level work when needed, but the day-to-day newsroom operation runs without us.
For performance, WP Rocket handles caching. Image optimization is managed by a custom plugin built by Mauveine Tech that automatically converts uploaded PNG and JPG files to WebP; a small thing that adds up quickly on a news site publishing images regularly. Google Analytics is now properly configured and connected, giving the team accurate traffic data for the first time.
On the design side, deliverables included: primary logo and variations, color palette, typography system, letterhead, and document templates.

The site is live at ipmsamachar.com. The editorial team was managing their own content publishing after the handoff. Google Analytics is tracking properly, and the team now has real traffic data to work with, which they didn't have before.

The Newspaper theme was a constraint we didn't choose, the client had already purchased it before the project started. Honestly, our preference is to build from the ground up. But this project was a good reminder that working well within a client's existing decisions is its own skill. The customization work we did on top of the theme, combined with the brand identity and performance tooling, produced a result the client can actually use and maintain. That's the job.
